Pet Food Distribution Assistant

Nevada County Pets in Need assists needy Nevada County families by providing pet food, supplies, and referrals for spaying/neutering, vaccinations, licensing, and emergency care. NCPN distributes pet food, treats, flea meds, collars and leashes, toys, dog coats, and cat litter at weekly giveaways at the Grass Valley location: 434 Colfax Avenue.

Nevada County Pets in Need is adding a weekly Wednesday giveaway to their schedule and they are seeking volunteers who would like to participate in a really fun and extremely rewarding activity. Volunteers need to be consistently available on Wednesdays from 9:00 am to 12:30 pm (vacations and illnesses are accommodated). 

Duties include:

–  Light lifting (10-20 lbs.) may be required as well as the ability to reach, bend, and squat to access pet food and supplies on shelves.
– Greeting clients.
– Registering new clients and updating client records, as directed.
– Filling each client’s order by bagging appropriate amount of canned and/or dry pet food.
– Restocking shelves with pet food and supplies.
– Identifying types of food and supplies needed to replenish inventory.
– Ensuring that the office and storage areas are tidy and organized at the conclusion of the giveaway.
